Steamed Broccoli with Garlic

Here I present a recipe for Steamed Broccoli with Garlic; fresh broccoli steamed in broth with garlic and butter, you get an awesome side in under 10 minutes 🙂

I had a plan, that plan was a roasted chicken with mashed potatoes, gravy, carrots….

(I really dislike cooked carrots)…

Thus the need for a better plan.

Enter broccoli.

Our family loves broccoli!

We usually have it roasted, but now that the weather is warmer in Southern Ontario, I don’t want to use the oven.

Enter Steamed Broccoli with Garlic…

The butter turns caramel-y so you get sweet, salty, decadent broccoli in about 5 minutes.

I call that a win 🙂

This is how you make it

Add in the broccoli pieces and boil on high heat,  until the the stock has cooked off and evaporated (this takes about 5 minutes).

Give the pan a shake and then season with pepper, about 8 spins the pepper mill (1/4 tsp).

Taste and adjust seasoning (I found the salt from the butter and stock was enough seasoning).
