Caesar Salad

Here I present an easy recipe for the classic Caesar salad with a homemade whipped dressing with tangy capers and crunchy red onion 🙂

This is one of those recipes that I honestly make several times a month and yet I’ve never shared it here 🤷‍♀️

I notice it’s missing the most when I’m working on my Weekly Meal Plans.  At least twice a month we’ll have a Barbecued Chicken Salad and yet, it’s never on my Meal Plans!

Well friends, that tide has turned.

Turned Indeed!

There are so many ways to switch up this salad.  I learned the capers trick from Mike’s stepdad and I’ve only recently started adding the red onion (it’s so good!)

We used to add sliced raw mushrooms but our kids can’t stand them so now we skip them.

This recipe calls for my Homemade Caesar Dressing but feel free to use any dressing of your choice.  This is a very versatile, awesome salad 🥗

This is how you make it

How to wash lettuce

Add your torn or chopped lettuce to a bowl or even your clean sink and submerge it in cold water.

Add in a splash of white vinegar, about a tablespoon and agitate it.

Let the lettuce sit in the vinegar water for 1-2 minutes then drain the water.

Add cold, clean water again.

Drain and dry.

This is a restaurant trick to revitalize lettuce that’s seen better days.  Trust me this works!  Try it before throwing away wilted lettuce – you won’t be disappointed.
