Smash Burgers
Here I present my Smash Burgers; a recipe for the easiest homemade hamburger – ever! its crispy and delicious and seriously rivals any restaurant burger you’ve had.
This is a recipe I come back to time and time again. It’s the base for some many burger recipes. I personally love making a double cheeseburger with just ketchup and mustard.
King of burgers
Sometimes I do lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, pickles and mayo… inspired by you guessed it, the whopper which is my guilty pleasure!
My kids have discovered Big Macs so they go with a double burger with cheese, lettuce and pickles… we do:
Thousand Island Dressing
As a cheater sauce!
The heat does the workÂ
I personally love the simplicity of this recipe because the heat does the work for you. Leaving the patty to crisp up gives you a world of flavour.
This is how I make Smash Burgers
To make the beef patties I simply roll the meat into the size of golf balls.Â
        Â
Then I place the balls into the very hot pan and immediately flatten them, as thin as I can get them (I use a strong spatula).
The patties get seasoned liberally with salt and pepper. Â Â
I flip the burgers after 2-3 minutes, when there’s a yummy darkened crust; the I season this second side with salt and pepper also.
The patties then cook for anther 2 minutes on medium-high.
I transfer the cooked patties to a plate and cover them with a bowl until all the patties are cooked. Â Â
Then I top with my favourite condiments!  I went super simple with ketchup and mustard.
Yum!
