Description
I’ve turned a turkey and cheese sandwich into a hot meal, with mushrooms and tomatoes; this is a healthy recipe ready in just over 30 minutes. (sorry Mike… he still hates tomatoes 🍅🙄)!
Ingredients
425 g Package of Dinner Rolls (slider buns)
1/4 Cup (salted) butter, melted
8–10 Slices of Smoked Turkey Breast (Deli meat)
227 g White button mushrooms, sliced and sautéed
1 Medium tomato, sliced
Salt
Pepper
6 Slices of Old Cheddar
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375.
Lightly spray a 9 x 13 casserole dish, like a lasagna pan, with cooking spray.
Slice the buns in half so that the tops are completely removed from the bottom.
Transfer the bottom of the buns to the casserole (cut side up) and brush lightly with some of the butter.
Top the bread evenly with the turkey, then tomatoes (season the tomatoes with salt and pepper), then the mushrooms, top that with the cheese and finally place the top of the buns on top.
Brush the top of the bun evenly with the remaining melted butter.
Wrap the casserole with foil.
Bake for 35 minutes covered . remove the foil and bake for another 5 minutes, until browned.
Serve immediately.
