Beef Sliders with au Jus

I’m obsessed, obsessed I say with those Hawaiian sweet rolls that you see all over social media, and you know what???  I found them!  I love them!  They’re delicious and so much fun!   So the bad part is they’re not the healthiest but when you focus on portion, lean protein and sodium levels, it makes it less of a guilty pleasure… Right?  Am I right here?  😕

Serves 6

425 g package of Hawaiian Style Slider Buns, sliced in half (in between top and bottom, keeping each layer in tact)

1 Batch Instant Pot Beef OR a Batch of Slow Cooker Beef

4 Slices low fat Swiss cheese or cheese of your choosing

1/2 tbsp (salted) butter

1 tsp grainy Dijon mustard

Preheat your oven to 350 once the beef is cooked.

Carefully remove the beef and onions from the pot and set aside.

With the cooking liquid still hot, add the butter and grainy mustard; mix well.

Taste and adjust seasoning on the jus.

Spray a baking sheet or casserole with some cooking spray (optional).

Place the bottom bread on the baking sheet/ casserole dish and top evenly with beef onion mixture and then top with the cheese and then the top layer of buns.

Brush the top of the buns evenly with some of the jus.

Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes.

Uncover and then bake for another 5 minutes; until the bread  is golden and toasted.

Again, brush the top of the buns evenly with some of the jus.

Serve immediately.

Notes:

  1.  Serve with the reserved Jus for dipping.
  2. You can get your own Instant Pot here…
