Hot Honey
Here I present my recipe for Hot Honey.
In the real world, I’m blessed to say I have stable employment, how lucky am I? Â Everyday I look around and quietly count my blessings. Â How blessed am I that I can afford to give my children shelter and an abundance of food.
I’m going to leave that hanging there for a moment.
The moment is done
I brought up my day job because my employer hires university students in the summer months so they can gain job skills in our field. Â One such student is named Melissa. Â Melissa and I were talking one day about all things foodie. Â She told me that she and her boyfriend like to cook adventures meals together. Â I myself had just published my recipe for Homemade Pizza to which Melissa asked if I had ever drizzled honey on my pizza.
No Melissa, I haven’t Â
I was intrigued. Â I googled it. Â It’s a thing. Â Honey on pizza is a thing. Â It was invented in New York by a chef about 10 years ago. Â it makes sense; a little sweet to balance the salt.
I googled on
Hot honey. Â Honey infused with spice – you get sweet AND heat.
I had to make it.
This is how you make it:
Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan.
Turn the heat to medium-high and let it come to a boil.
Then drop the heat to medium and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
