

Hot Honey
Here I present my recipe for Hot Honey.
In the real world, I’m blessed to say I have stable employment, how lucky am I? Everyday I look around and quietly count my blessings. How blessed am I that I can afford to give my children shelter and an abundance of food.
I’m going to leave that hanging there for a moment.
The moment is done
I brought up my day job because my employer hires university students in the summer months so they can gain job skills in our field. One such student is named Melissa. Melissa and I were talking one day about all things foodie. She told me that she and her boyfriend like to cook adventures meals together. I myself had just published my recipe for Homemade Pizza to which Melissa asked if I had ever drizzled honey on my pizza.
No Melissa, I haven’t
I was intrigued. I googled it. It’s a thing. Honey on pizza is a thing. It was invented in New York by a chef about 10 years ago. it makes sense; a little sweet to balance the salt.
I googled on
Hot honey. Honey infused with spice – you get sweet AND heat.
I had to make it.
This is how you make it:
Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan.
Turn the heat to medium-high and let it come to a boil.
Then drop the heat to medium and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
Store in airtight container at room temperature for up to a month.
