Hot Honey
Here I present my recipe for Hot Honey.
In the real world, I’m blessed to say I have stable employment, how lucky am I? Ā Everyday I look around and quietly count my blessings. Ā How blessed am I that I can afford to give my children shelter and an abundance of food.
I’m going to leave that hanging there for a moment.
The moment is done
I brought up my day job because my employer hires university students in the summer months so they can gain job skills in our field. Ā One such student is named Melissa. Ā Melissa and I were talking one day about all things foodie. Ā She told me that she and her boyfriend like to cook adventures meals together. Ā I myself had just published my recipe for Homemade Pizza to which Melissa asked if I had ever drizzled honey on my pizza.
No Melissa, I haven’t Ā
I was intrigued. Ā I googled it. Ā It’s a thing. Ā Honey on pizza is a thing. Ā It was invented in New York by a chef about 10 years ago. Ā it makes sense; a little sweet to balance the salt.
I googled on
Hot honey. Ā Honey infused with spice – you get sweet AND heat.
I had to make it.
This is how you make it:

Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan.

Turn the heat to medium-high and let it come to a boil.

Then drop the heat to medium and let it simmer for 5 minutes.

Store in airtight container at room temperature for up to a month.
