Baked Ravioli with Ricotta

Here I present my recipe for Baked Ravioli with Ricotta;  a delicious recipe for Baked Ravioli with homemade Ricotta; cheesy and delicious and ready in under an hour ❤️

So I made a near identical recipe to this one last year but the addition of the homemade ricotta really makes this:

1.  Incredibly delicious,

2.  A very distinct dish from what I shared last year.

Now you can certainly use store bought ricotta in place of homemade but I really recommend trying to make it yourself because it’s much more affordable and it’s super easy.  Then you can tell everyone you made homemade ricotta 🤗

This is how I made it

First I made the Ricotta, recipe here:

Homemade Ricotta

I added the salt to the milk in a pot and slowly brought it up to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently so it didn’t scald my pot.

Once it came to a boil, I turned off the heat and stirred in the lemon juice.

I let the pot rest for 10 minutes then gave it another mix.

I lined a sieve with cheese cloth and placed it over a bowl.

I poured the milk mixture into the cheesecloth.

I left it strain for 10 minutes.

Good to go!

Then I made my dish

I sprayed an oven-safe casserole dish with some cooking spray then added 1/3 of the marinara sauce to the dish.

I topped the sauce with 1/2 the ravioli.

Then I topped that ravioli with another 1/3 of the sauce.

Then I dolloped the fresh ricotta evenly across the sauce.

I topped that with the remaining ravioli and topped that with the remaining sauce.

I evenly topped that with the mozzarella cheese and then some Parmesan.

Bake at 375 for 30 minutes, covered with foil.

Uncover after 20 minutes.

Let cheese bubble under the broiler if the cheese isn’t bubbling after 30 minutes.

Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
