What makes this recipe different from my other tomato sauces is the fact that it is a raw sauce. This recipe is so ridiculously easy you’re going to think I’m crazy; that is, until you taste it! I use this sauce in many of my pizza recipes, enjoy!!!!
1 398 ml can of diced tomatoes
2 Cloves of garlic crushed
1/2 tsp salt
¼ tsp of pepper (about 10 spins of the peppermill)
1 tbsp oregano (fresh or dried)
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
– Combine all the ingredients in a bowl.
– Taste and adjust seasoning.
– When I make a pizza using this sauce, I first prepare the dough and while it is rising I prepare the sauce. Letting the sauce sit for a while lets the flavours come together.
- If you want to add a little spice you can add some chili flakes to the tomato sauce when you add all of the other ingredients, start with 1 tsp and see if that gives you enough heat.
