How to Boil an Egg
This works for me every time and it doesn’t matter if you are boiling one egg or a dozen.
– Place (large) raw eggs (with shell on!) in a pot and cover with water.
– Bring pot up to a boil.
– Once water has come up to a boil drop the heat to medium and set the timer for 10 minutes.
– When the timer goes off drain the hot water out of the pot but leave the eggs in the pot (use the lid) and cover the eggs with cold water to drop the heat on the egg (this will ensure that the egg doesn’t continue to cook).
– Voila, a perfect hardboiled egg.
Soft boiled egg – 6 minutes
Medium boiled egg – 8 minutes
Hardboiled egg – 10 minutes
