Description

A homemade, creamy mayonnaise that tastes exactly like a French onion dip.  This is perfect as a dressing, dip or spread and comes together in seconds.

Ingredients

Scale

1 Large egg at room temperature

2 tsp Grainy Dijon mustard

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp pepper

3/4 Cup canola oil

2 tsp red wine vinegar

1 tsp onion powder

Instructions

Use a food processor or blender; mix the egg, grainy Dijon, salt and pepper until smooth.

Slowly drizzle in the oil and continue to mix until it thickens.

Add in the vinegar and onion powder.

Taste and adjust seasoning.

Transfer to a jar with a tight-fitting lid and refrigerate.

Notes

  1. Vegetable oil will work but I prefer canola.
  2. It has to be onion powder!
