Baked Honey Garlic Chicken Wings

This is a fantastic recipe from a few years ago…

I love taking really naughty pub food and making it practically guilt free, you still need a little restraint here, portion control and not eating the skin is key (sorry!).

Description

Everything you love about classic honey garlic wings from your favourite pub only baked… you don’t even notice they’re healthier 🙂

Ingredients

Scale

¼ Cup honey

¼ Cup cold water

1 tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp salt

½ tsp pepper

½ tsp sriracha sauce

6 Cloves garlic, crushed

900g (2 lbs) chicken wings, split

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400.

Whisk together the honey, water, brown sugar, salt, pepper, sriracha and the garlic; set aside.

Lay a piece of parchment paper or aluminum foil on a baking sheet and top that with a lightly greased roasting rack.

Coat the wings well in the honey mixture and then lay them on the roasting rack (reserve the honey mixture).

Bake the wings for 30-35 minutes, until darkened and the juices run clear when the meat is pierced; flip the wings halfway through for even colour.

Pour the honey mixture into a small sauce pot and bring it to a boil, let it boil for at least a minute to kill off any germs, please note the sauce will still be on the thin side.

When the chicken comes out of the oven, brush it with more of the honey sauce.

To serve, place the wings on a platter and pour the remaining honey garlic all over the wings; top with green onions if you want to be fancy!
