Copycat Kraft French Dressing

I’ve mentioned before that I’m first generation Canadian. My mother was born in Sweden 🇸🇪 and my father was born in Italy 🇮🇹. They met and married in Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦

My father is pretty traditional as far as Italians go, he likes his Italian food, real Italian food – not really what you see at the Olive Garden (though that’s delicious too)!  We always had a green salad, with a homemade vinaigrette, lots of tomatoes and vegetables with bread! There’s always bread at my parent’s house…

Where am I going with this you ask!?! Well I’d see all the Canadian/American salad dressings in the stores and beg my mom for them. I love salad, always have but I wanted to try these dressings. I got to try them all! My mother bought me each and everyone, one at a time. I remember loving them but I don’t remember having them twice 🤣🤣🤣. I don’t think my dad liked them too much.

Anyway as I got older I stuck to homemade vinaigrette’s but then I had a craving for French dressing so I had to figure out how to make it.

This recipe is identical, IDENTICAL to Kraft French Dressing. I think I’m going to try Russian next, still can’t stomach Thousand Island though 😣

This is how you do it:

Combine all the ingredients together and mix well (I use a mason jar).

Refrigerate the dressing for a few hours before serving then give it another quick mix before dressing your salad.

I just had a green salad with cucumbers, red onion and tomatoes…

Toss and serve immediately 🙂

A super simple Copycat recipe that tastes identical to Kraft French Dressing, a tangy, creamy vinaigrette using everyday ingredients 🙂
