Yogurt Sauce

Yogurt Sauce

I love this sauce for many different recipes but it worked really well with my “My Ooey, Gooey, I Can’t Believe this isn’t Going to Make me Fat Chocolate Cake”.  The idea here is to use it in place of whipped cream and ice cream as a dessert topping.

Serves 4

1 cup fat free yogurt (strained – about a cup and a half unstrained)

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 tsp brown sugar, packed

– Combine all ingredients and enjoy!

Notes:

1. To stain the yogurt; line a sieve with a coffee filter and place over a bowl.  Pour the yogurt into the coffee filter; depending on the size of the coffee filter you may need to do this twice.  Leave the yogurt to drain for at least 45 minutes but an hour and a half will give you the best results.  Also, you can put the yogurt in the fridge to drain but I just left it out on the counter.
