“Take-Out Burger”

“Take-Out Burger”

I’m calling this ‘Take-Out Burger” because that’s exactly what it tastes like; a decadent, naughty, fatty, bad-for-you-burger but really it’s not bad for you at all.  I credit this to two things: My Yummy Boom Boom Sauce and Sautéed Mushrooms; what an incredible  combination.  This is a “putting it all together” recipe and I hope it inspires you to make your own ultimate version of your favourite naughty burger 🙂

Serves 4

1 Batch of My Favourite Go To Beef Burger

1 Batch of My Yummy Boom Boom Sauce

1/2 tbsp (salted) butter

227 g White button (or cremini mushrooms), sliced

Salt

Pepper

4 of your favourite (whole wheat) burger buns

Heat a frying pan over high heat and add the butter, when it’s melted, add in the mushrooms; season with salt and pepper.

Sauté for 5-7 minutes on high, until the mushrooms have given off their water and started to brown.

Drop the heat to low and then taste and adjust seasoning before serving.

To serve place the cooked beef patties on the buns, top with My Yummy Boom Boom Sauce and then the sautéed mushrooms.

Garnish with fresh tomatoes and crisp lettuce (and any fresh veggie you want!).

Notes:

  1.  As always, you can substitute with turkey or chicken but cut the salt in half and omit the egg 🙂
