Lemon-Caper Sauce


Lemon-Caper Sauce

This is a fabulous sauce to use in place of regular, boring (but still yummy) tarter sauce; I made this when I had my Spicy Scallops; yum!

Makes about ½ Cup

¼ Cup Fat free plain yogurt

¼ Cup Light mayonnaise

1 tbsp capers

Splash (about a ½ tsp) of the caper brine

The zest of half a lemon

The juice of half a lemon

Pinch of sugar (to taste)

Pinch of salt (to taste)

Pinch of pepper (to taste)

Combine all ingredients together; taste and adjust seasoning.

Notes:

  1. Although this sauce is low fat, it’s rich so a little goes a long way.
  2. This would also be a great alternative to plain mayo.
  3. Serve with veggies as a dip.
  4. Really, the sky is the limit with this sauce.
