Kale Chips

Here I present my recipe of Kale Chips, read on to learn how you can make them at home 🙂

Hands up if you’ve ever had Kale Chips 🙋‍♀️

I had never had kale chips until I switched from grocery shopping to having my veggies delivered by a local farm.

I guess thank you covid!?! 🤷‍♀️

Anyway every two weeks I receive an “essential box” with the most amazing produce that’s grown locally.

So there I was with kale.  A whole bunch of kale.

I tried a kale Caesar… not so good 🙄

Then it dawned on me; kale chips, let’s give those suckers a try.   Salty, crunchy, garlicky and like 25 calories per portion.

This is how you make them:

Chop kale into bite-sized pieces, removing and discarding the stems.

Submerge in clean water, mix around to release any sand.  Repeat this step at least 3 times.

Lay to dry completely on a clean kitchen cloth.

Preheat your oven to 300.

Transfer the dry kale to two baking sheets.

Coat evenly with the oil, mixing with your hands.

Season liberally with coarse salt and garlic powder.

Bake for 15 minutes then flip the kale and again season with coarse salt and garlic powder.

I’m less likely to make fun of hippy vegans now.  Slightly.  😉
